Image captured by the Galileo spacecraft on September 7th, 1996 of Europa. It’s the sixth moon from Jupiter and the smallest of the Galilean Satellites, but still one of the largest bodies in the Solar System (roughly the same size as the Moon). It is significant for several reasons, one being it was one of the four moons discovered by Galileo Galilei and also what many astrologist believe to be the most likely planet to harbor life in our own Solar System. Covered in a solid ice crust, Europa is believed to have liquid water under it, heated by volcanic activity.
